Get ConnectedGet Connected > Mac > Connection > Quick Instructions: Mac OS Classic 7.6 - 9.2
Step 1: Locate the Assistants folder on your hard drive and open it. Double Click on the Internet Setup Assistant icon. Click Yes and the Yes again. Click the right arrow to continue. Step 2: In the Configuration name, type Ideal Access.
Step 3: Select Modem for connection type and click the right arrow to continue. Step 4: Select your modem brand and port from the drop-down menus. Choose the Type of dialing your phone line uses, and then click the right arrow to continue.
Step 5: Enter your local access number, as well as the area code (if required), and any codes needed (such as *70, to turn off call waiting or 9 to reach an outside line).
Step 6: Enter your username (as shown in the table below) and password.
Step 7: Click the right arrow to continue. Step 8: Select No for the PPP scripts and click the right arrow to continue.
Step 9: Select No for the IP Address and click the right arrow to continue.
Step 10: In the first box of the Domain Name Servers window, enter the following numbers: 198.6.1.125 Leave the last box empty, and click the right arrow to continue.
Step 11: Enter your e-mail address (as shown in the table below) and password in the appropriate boxes and click the right arrow to continue.
Step 12: In the e-mail account box, enter username@pop.domain.com, replacing "username" with your assigned Ideal username and "domain" by your assigned Ideal domain name (as shown in the table below).
Step 13: Enter your outgoing mail server as the email host (as shown in the table below). Click the right arrow to continue.
Step 14: Leave the Newsgroup host blank and click the right arrow to continue.
Step 15: Select No for proxy setting and click the right arrow to continue.
Step 16: Click Go Ahead. You are now ready to connect to the Internet!
