Common sense and judgment are a necessary part of any system of rules, and the AUP is no exception. Protection of our customers and our resources, the ability to provide quality service to our customers, conformance with existing law, and the protection of our reputation as a service provider are all contributing factors to decisions on AUP violations. The Provider believes in free speech, however, certain activities are considered inappropriate by the Internet community at large and cannot be permitted under the guise of free speech. The Provider does not monitor the activity of accounts except for measurements of system utilization and billing records. Nevertheless, in our efforts to promote good citizenship within the Internet community, if we become aware of inappropriate use of the Provider service, we will respond accordingly. The Provider reserves the right to terminate service with or without notice should an the Provider account be used to violate the AUP. Flagrant violations of the AUP will result in immediate termination of service. If the Provider terminates your account for any reason described in our AUP, you agree to not register, either directly or through another person, another account with the Provider without obtaining the Provider's prior written permission. Spam: A popular term used to describe the mass posting of substantially similar messages to one or many Usenet newsgroups. The term is also applicable to similar behavior in e-mail. Posting multiple messages to individual newsgroups or posting to a large number of newsgroups with a single message is equally prohibited. Intentionally or maliciously flooding a newsgroup with the intent to disrupt the use of that group by other participants is strictly prohibited. For more on Spam, please visit: http://www.mindworkshop.com/alchemy/nospam.html E-mail that has been left on our server may be deleted if it surpasses 5MB and has been left on the server for more than 5 consecutive days, if it has not been read and been left on the server for over 3 months, or if it has been read and left on the server for one month. This will not affect you as long as your e-mail software is configured appropriately. You may not, and you agree not to, use your Ideal Access account to send out: large quantities of unsolicited e-mail of whatever nature - commercial, personal or otherwise - also known as "spamming" or "mail bombing"; messages that are threatening, harassing, coercive or otherwise abusive in nature; e-mail messages to another individual or another system that has explicitly requested that you cease. This includes attempts, whether successful or unsuccessful, to circumvent the approval process for posting to moderated groups and issuing news control messages. The Provider may cancel such articles. You shall not cancel messages other than your own. You may, however, cancel posts forged in your name. Flames, hostile attacks, or invectives aimed at a group or an individual poster, are generally considered inappropriate. Flames in the non-service groups are not encouraged. We believe that it is better to ignore flames than respond to them. Threatening or harassing news articles are prohibited. Section 2.
